On September 9th, SWE UIC held its first meeting of the Fall 2015 semester! We had a packed room as UIC students from a variety of engineering majors were eager to learn all about what the Society of Women Engineers at UIC has to offer. At this event we promoted SWE membership and spoke about Mom, Me, & SWE, as well as the rest of the many events we were holding in the Fall semester.
Our Fall 2015 events include:
– General Body Meetings
– SWEet Beginnings
– Halloween Meet-n-Greet
– SWE National Conference in Nashville
– Mom, Me, & SWE
– Talks from Engineers Without Borders and the Biomedical Engineering Society
– Thanksgiving Potluck
– Finals Coffee & Pancakes
Want to get involved in K-12 outreach programs and represent SWE UIC at events on and off campus? Become a SWE Ambassador! This elite group of students not only carries out the SWE Mission, but they are also liaisons between our section and other schools and organizations that support women in STEM.
As a SWE Ambassador, you will support programs such as Mom, Me, and SWE, SWE Shadow Day, SWEet Beginnings, and much more! SWE Ambassadors will be rewarded for their time and dedication by being considered for SWE Leading Member of the month, SWE UIC scholarships, and sponsorship to SWE National and Regional Conferences.
